THE WORLD’S GREATEST FAIR: SAINT LOUIS 1904.

DVD_TheWorldsGreatestFairStLouis1904[DVD: PBS Home Video – 2004 – 113 mins]. The 1904 World’s Fair was intended to be the biggest and the best World’s Fair ever. We present the fair through a series of compelling stories, including: The first Olympic Games on American soil. A Ferris wheel, so large that a wedding was held in one of its compartments on horseback. Tales of a loincloth wearing tribe that shocked and enthralled visitors by eating dogs. And a story about the famous Geronimo, who sold visitors his autograph and hat – then replaced it with another from a box hidden under the table. This documentary is a unique snapshot of America at the dawn of a new era. ANDY SHINE SAYS: Interesting, but it left me feeling underwhelmed. ANDY SHINE’S RATING: Fair / Good.
