LeSourdsville Lake (Middletown, Ohio), also known as Americana Amusement Park by a generation of visitors, was a popular recreational park for many decades. The park hosted hundreds of annual company picnics, high school proms and family reunions, and its success was maintained by featuring such classic rides as the Electric Rainbow, the Whip, and the Cyclone / Space Rocket / Screechin’ Eagle and Serpent roller coasters, while the Stardust Gardens provided quality entertainment. Another strong book thanks to help from Arcadia. Although I was familiar with this park this was my first book to read about it. Unlike many great parks of the past that continued to slowly decline once time slipped into the mid century and later, this park grew stronger into the 1970’s and 1980’s. Not one of my all time favorite ‘Images of America’ books but a strong one none the less that is worth adding to your collection. I rate this one 7/10.
