IdoraParkLastRideOfSummer[Book: Rick Shale & Charles J. Jacques Jr. – 1999 – 21x28cm – 142 Pages – Many B&W photos, some colour]. Our days at Idora Park (Youngstown, Ohio) were full of fun: trying to get through the revolving barrel in the Fun House, or winning a prize on the midway. We felt the rush of the Wildcat’s first drop, and gazed upon the graceful revolutions of the Rocket Ships. These experiences live forever, if only in our minds – where the last ride of summer never ends. This is my second amusement park book that I enjoyed reading by Charles Jacques Jr. I enjoyed the time line flow with the photos matching what is being talked about in the book, the way books should be. Great information and tons of photos, especially in the second half of the book. The book is easy to read although the text was a bit small for what I like. I would have liked to have seen a few park maps of the park over the years. Overall, I recommend this one and give it a 8/10.
