DVD_MegaStructures-UltimateRollerCoaster[DVD: National Geographic Channel – 2005 – 46 mins]. The Kingda Ka roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure (Jackson, New Jersey) hits 128 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds, shoots up a 90° incline and peaks 456 feet in the air. Find out what it takes to design and construct this world record-breaking ride. (Language is in Korean accompanied with optional Korean subtitling when English-speaking persons talk to camera). ANDY SHINE SAYS: an interesting programme and I was intrigued by the alternative designs featuring two hills after the tower. Altogether an okay programme, but we’re not afforded much of an insight beyond the weather hampering construction and the usual operational teething problems. ANDY SHINE’S RATING: Good.
