DVD_KnottsAFamilyBuildsAMountain[DVD: R. Harris Productions – 1960 –  28 mins]. The year was 1920 when Walter and Cordelia Knott moved to the then-sleepy community of Buena Park, California to farm 20 acres of rented land. Today, that land is part of 160-acre Knott’s Berry Farm, America’s first theme park. Ghost Town is full of pieces of historic Knott’s Berry Farm (as the park has been called since 1947). It wasn’t until 1960 that Knott’s Berry Farm got its first real theme park ride – The Calico Mine Ride, built by Bud Hurlbut, the man who brought the original Merry-Go-Round to Knott’s Berry Farm in 1956. ANDY SHINE SAYS: This B&W narrated adventure takes you inside Ghost Town and the Calico Mine Ride. I enjoyed it. ANDY SHINE’S RATING: Fair / Good.
