DVD_FadingMemoriesOfRiverviewParkDesMoines[DVD: Bill Kooker – 2006 – 24 mins]. Riverview Park, Des Moines, Iowa (1915-1978) was said to entertain millions of people from all walks of life. It played important roles during the ’20s, the Depression, World War II, and the baby boom of the ’50s and ’60s. For some people a trip to Riverview was a routine summer weekend excursion, for others it was a ritual; but for nearly all that went there, a trip to the park was a significant event not to be forgotten. ANDY SHINE SAYS: A home-produced programme that reports on the many challenges the park faced through the years. The programme ends rather abruptly, just like the demise of the park, so is quite apt really. ANDY SHINE’S RATING: Good.
